If you’re looking for an international holiday escape, look no further than Uptown at the Charlotte Christmas Village!

The 3rd annual Charlotte Christmas Village returns to Uptown for its 2018 season on Thanksgiving Day. The village will open on November 22nd at 10:30 a.m. and be open until 5 p.m. that day. The village has moved locations and is now at the corner of 7th Street and N. Tryon Street. Organizers say this allows them the same amount of room – plus the opportunity to expand and have the Uptown Charlotte Christmas tree.

The annual Uptown Charlotte Christmas Tree Lighting will be on Thursday, November 29th at 5:30 p.m. The free event will include the Charlotte Symphony, Santa Claus and more!

Hours through the rest of the season are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will also be open Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free!

Santa Claus will also be in the village regularly during the season. This is also free! Times include:

  • Thanksgiving Day: 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • November 23rd:  12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

  • Every Sunday: Noon – 3 p.m.
