The Coolest Car at JR Motorsports Won One Race Seven Years Ago

Dale Earnhardt Jr. only raced in it once.

Just a short ways up Interstate 77 is JR Motorsports, the NASCAR racing team co-owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. The facility houses four drivers within the Xfinity Series. It serves as a one-stop shop, from assembly to storage to a gift shop. Fans can get an up close and personal look at the inner workings on Thursdays and Fridays, which are tour days.

There, you’ll see what many deem the ‘coolest’ car – the #3 Wrangler Car which Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove in the 2010 Subway Jalapeño 250. It was an homage to his dad, Dale Earnhardt Sr., donning the same sponsor and number under Daytona International Speedway’s lights. He won the race, and the car went straight from the trailer to the shop floor, where it has sat ever since.

For those who love the sport, this is a must-see.

JR Motorsports is open Monday through Saturday. You can check out its hours here.
