This is the First Float to Push Itself in a Charlotte Parade

This train will choo choo all on its own.

If you ask Charlotte Center City Partners CCO Robert Krumbine about the one thing he’s always wanted in the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade, he’ll say it was a train. And not just any train. But a train that could pull itself.

You’re probably thinking, “Don’t most trains pull themselves?” But in the world of parade floats, it can get complicated. All the floats in the Thanksgiving Day Parade either are pulled by something (i.e. a trcuk, etc) or someone. That is, until this year. This nearly 60 foot long parade float is the first of its kind in the parade, and Krumbine couldn’t be more excited.

Curious about where those floats go once the Parade is done? Check out our Queen City Weekend feature here.
