Congrats to Amélie’s French Bakery, who recently opened its sixth location at the Park Road Shopping Center. (This is the fifth location in Charlotte.) We stopped by the new location and spoke to the Kitchen Manager there – Ashley Anna Tuttle – about how they make their caramel.
Turns out, the staff makes two different types of caramel. They make a barista caramel with just a few basic ingredients – sugar, water, cream and butter. The finished product is used in a lot of their drinks, like the Café Marcotter made in the video.
But they do something different with the caramel that goes on their infamous salted caramel brownies – add one special ingredient they wouldn’t reveal.
The new location is 4321 Park Road and is located behind the Michael’s storefront. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weeknights and 7 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
