Newly crowned Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst talks with Queen City Weekend producer Maggie Solomon about competing, coming home to Charlotte and some of her Queen City favorites.
On May 2nd, Charlotte attorney and Miss North Carolina Cheslie Kryst was crowned Miss USA 2019. Now, fresh off her win, she returned to her hometown to talk about competing, being back and some of her favorite this about the Queen City.

In addition to serving as Miss NC USA, Kryst said she balances being a full-time attorney in the Charlotte office of a North Carolina law firm, Poyner Spruill, running a blog for women’s workwear fashion, White Collar Glam.
Kryst earned a law degree and an MBA at Wake Forest University. As an attorney, she represents clients in federal and state cases relating to a wide range of business disputes.
“Balancing my numerous duties and responsibilities hasn’t been easy, but I’ve enjoyed the unique opportunities that being a pageant queen and an attorney has granted me,” Kryst said. “Funny enough, one of my favorite clients is a friend of mine and fellow North Carolina native–Miss America, Nia Franklin.”
Kryst grew up in Charlotte and attended Huntingtowne Farms Elementary, Quail Hollow Middle and Southwest Middle before moving just across the border and graduating from Fort Mill High School.
