When it comes to taste testing a variety of restaurants, there’s no better time than the semi-annual Charlotte Restaurant Week. The 10-day celebration encompasses more than 130 restaurants across nine counties. And while there are plenty of traditional options at multiple restaurants (steak, chicken, salad and so on), we scanned all the menus to find the less-traditional items you might not otherwise try. Southern Egg Rolls

What is it?: This is a fun, southern spin on a typical Asian food favorite. Inside these egg rolls is slow-smoked chicken, collard greens & oven cured tomatoes with peach chutney & Asian mustard.
Stuffed Grape Leaves

What is it?: The leaves off a grape vine traditionally stuffed with rice and herbs. Essex also has beef with feta yogurt. They’re also serving it at ilios noche with citrus, dill and rice.
