6 Charlotte Rooftop Bars to Enjoy – No Matter the Weather

Don't get me wrong - inside bars are great. But there's something to be said about sipping a Moscow Mule at dusk while overlooking the Charlotte skyline. (Even better when you can still enjoy on a cool or rainy night!)

Fahrenheit

Okay, this may seem like an obvious choice. But have you seen that view? Not to mention the fire pit makes it perfect for both summer nights as well as the spring and fall. This is definitely one of the most upscale of rooftops.

Coolest sounding drink: There Will Be Blood. Contains vodka, blood orange rosemary syrup, lemon juice, ginger beer and a sprig of rosemary.

Rooftop 210

Located in the Uptown entertainment hub the Epicentre, Rooftop 210 is perfect for those weeknight happy hours. It puts you in the center of downtown and often in the center of the party, since Rooftop 210 regularly hosts events.

The bar boasts retractable ceilings and walls, so you can enjoy year round.

The Peculiar Rabbit

If you’re looking to stay away from Uptown on a Friday night, just a short distance away in Plaza Midwood sits the Peculiar Rabbit, a gastropub with some killer food and a killer view.

If the weather takes a turn for the worst, just duck inside and find a nice window seat until it clears up!

Coolest sounding drink: Cucumber Cooler. Contains Absolut, muddled cucumber, Domain de Canton, St. Germain and lime. If that doesn’t sound like a summer drink, then what does?

Whiskey Warehouse

Another Plaza Midwood staple makes the list with an incredible view. Whiskey Warehouse has been a destination for an evening out since it’s opening in 2009. With a few heaters, it makes it good for a cool night, but not a lot of head cover.

Coolest sounding drink: Berries a Bursting. Contains 3 Olives Berry, Cherry and Pomegranate, Cranberry Juice and Sprite. This comes in a pitcher form, so challenge accepted.

The Gin Mill

If you’re looking for something more relaxed, you may find the feeling at the Gin Mill. Located in the South End, this rooftop bar feels like that cozy hole-in-the-wall bar while still just a few minutes from Uptown.

This rooftop has a lot to offer a casual, laid back person – but be wary if rain comes your way.

City Lights Rooftop

Stellar views, appropriate shrubbery and an upscale atmosphere make City Lights Rooftop a must on your Charlotte rooftop bar list. This bar goes into Winter Solstice during the winter months. But come Daylight Savings, it becomes a go to with a 360 degree view of Charlotte.

Coolest sounding drink: Southern Peach Cooler. Anything peach can convince this Southerner to order it.
