Rock out at multiple concerts, see monster trucks, enjoy vendors and rides - all before the cars even get to the track.
If you live in or near Charlotte, this is one of those things you have to go try at least once: one of NASCAR’s most legendary speedways with cars packing enough horsepower to rattle your bones. It’s a spectacle and you don’t have to know a thing about racing to appreciate it.
We felt like we had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Turns out, we’re clueless. Thankfully, Greg Walter was patient with us as he explained. He’s the Executive VP and he sincerely believes you’ll get your money’s worth well before the green flag this year.
There’s a family-friendly Fan Zone with food, games and plenty of brands giving away cool stuff in exchange for your undying devotion. Monster Energy will have high-flying motorcycles and monster trucks. True fans can get up close to their favorite NASCAR drivers during “Trackside Live.”
Oh, and Brad Paisley. He’s performing and it’s included with your ticket.
Combine all of that with the fact that this is one of the last sporting events on the planet that lets you pack and bring in your own cooler. We’re serious. Stuff a 14x14x14 cooler with whatever fits and come on in. (Okay, there might be a few rules.)
Tickets are affordable and on sale here, with kids under 13 getting in for $10 with a paying adult.
We also learned Charlotte Motor Speedway has stuff going on all the time, so something to think about whether NASCAR’s in town or not when you plan your next Queen City weekend.
