Local artist restores Coca-Cola murals
Painted wall signs were one of the earliest forms of advertising. According to Coca-Cola, it started using painted wall signs in the 1890s. They could be spotted from Virginia to California and you can find them still today in North Carolina towns. You might have one in your town, pass by one now and then or know of a favorite you like to look at. But the art is fading now.
And that’s where one local artist steps in. QC@3 Producer Jordan Sawyers tagged along as she restored one in Uptown Charlotte – and learned why each time she paints, she’s keeping a memory alive.
