Trick Shots Don’t Win Hockey Games, But They Drive the Crowd Wild

Trick shots are more of an art than anything else.

There’s a lot that goes into the sport of hockey including balance, talent and skill. And more often than not, the Charlotte Checkers are focused on just one thing: getting the puck into the goal. It doesn’t matter how; just do it. Every once in a while, though, players will get the opportunity to get a little creative with how that happens. Enter Sergey Tolchinsky and Andrew Poturalski. These two Checkers explain the idea behind the ‘trick shot,’ a cool – almost surreal – way of scoring that can bring the crowd to its feet.
